Review of Marlon

Marlon (2017–2018)
3/10
Exaggerated humor
15 September 2018
The first few episodes of the 1st season were actually funny but perhaps because I hadn't seen Marlon Wayans on the screen for quite some time. Unfortunately now I know why.

Marlon is about an Afro-American family with 2 teenagers dealing with every day challenges, so you'd expect. The sitcom, as the name says, is literally all about Marlon. No daily challenges an average family faces in today's world but more about Marlon, and to an extent his wife. The kids?? Just additional characters to make it a "family sitcom" like most sitcoms nowadays. The college friends of both Marlin and his wife even play a bigger role in the sitcom than the kids.

The humor is all provided by Marlon. So a fan of Marlon Wayans would love this sitcom and would propably rate it a 7 or higher. If you always find Marlon Wayans OK because other characters had a substantial role then you might get bored, or even bored with the exagerrated behavior of Marlon trying to be funny or either trying to make a point. YES, he has his funny moments, but the sitcom is centered too much on a personallity played by somebody who is exaggerating his attempts to be funny way too much.
