Warning: Spoilers
. . . of CENTRAL AIRPORT, a timely warning from the always eponymous Warner Bros. With CENTRAL AIRPORT, Warner warns America that it's not too late to avoid slipping down the Witch Hunt Rabbit Hole. Tapping HEROES FOR SALE director "Billy Wellman" to head their team of far-sighted prognosticators, Warner sets out to show America how the life of a totalitarian blowhard is worth less than that of a hopeless drunk. At about 58 minutes, 14 seconds into this movie, "Marion 'Mary" Morrison" is clearly recognizable as the pilot to the left evacuating passengers from a sinking plane (obviously representing the U.S. Ship of State). The illicit wino soon slips into the sea, and Mary drowns the booze hound (along with himself) in an ill-advised "rescue" attempt. Warner's seers then make it water cooler clear that there absolutely would NOT have been any room for either of these useless blokes aboard "Jim's" relief flight back to Civilization. Warner's prophets tell the U.S. that if you want to fish, you have to know when it's time to cut bait. Unfortunately, Warner's clairvoyance was treated like a message from Cassandra by several generations of weak-minded folks, until the Baby Boomers sniffed out the Rat during THE GREEN BERETS.
