Green Arrow (2014)
5/10
Green Arrow animated for the small ones
15 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Okay here we got Jeff Mednikow's "Green Arrow" that premiered back in 2014 and by now consists of one episode of 3 episodes. If more should unexpectedly follow in the coming years at some point, let me emphasize that I have only seen the first 3. I think the first episode was the weakest, the second the best and the final one on-between. early on, it is basically a quick character introduction with the title character and his female side chick Black Canary destroying gigantic eveil robots that do not pose a challenge at all. Second episode, there is at least a physically worthy opponent named Brick, looks like the Thing a bit to me from Fantastic Four, but an evil version and G.A. toys around a lot with him using all kind of arrow gadgets, like helium, green slime, ice, shrinking and others. Was kinda fun to watch, even if B.C. felt a bit pointless there just standing around doing nothing. But yeah, better than the other two. And finally, Black Canary is out and Cupid is in, a female archer and it is not entirely clear if she is an antagonist or just wants Green Arrow to fall in love with her. In any case, G.A.'s shooting application crushes on Cupid's, so G.A. has to get it for him. Not the greatest story, but slightly charming execution I suppose. Also good to see B.C. out, her material was clearly fading. Overall, neither the stories, nor the comedy aspects are good enough for me to recommend this one. It's really short though as you can watchn all 3 episodes in under 5 minutes easily. If ylou love Green Arrow, go for it, but don't expect too much. Animation is mediocre at best too and with that I am rather referring to the style than to the attention to detail. Episode 2 is the only one I'd recommend.
