The Closer: Road Block (2011)
Season 7, Episode 14
8/10
But you are definitely a murderer.

Warning: Spoilers
The LA Police Commissioner's wife is a drunk and now a killer, shown in a captured police car camera filming her arrest on Long Island last year together with the fatal crash opening this episode with Flynn witnessing. Brenda sees through the woman's lies immediately but getting sufficient-hard evidence to convict her for murder will take superb police work from Major Crimes.

Meaningful lines of dialogue throughout this episode include Flynn's exchange with the guilty party as Gail Meyers tells him good for you and your higher power. If your body can't tolerate alcohol, you should give it up, glad you figured it out. Andy comes back with, I didn't figure anything out, I just quick drinking. I'll be back in a minute. How sad off is the woman when she speaks like that to Flynn?

Brenda's responses pierce the air with reality when Gail says she is not an alcoholic and Brenda says okay, but you are definitely a murderer. Gail Meyers preaches that she will get help if necessary and Brenda retorts and who will help Gracie Ann Gates?

This is another classy episode with the cast of regulars and guests offering an excellent production inside of three-quarters of an hour. Pay particular attention how Brenda avoids red tape with lawyers by putting the Commissioner's daughter in a room with the victim's parents and afterward the one-on-one interview with the daughter. Showing the daughter's interview to the parents closes the case and sends the wife to booking.

How poignant was the scene with Andy Flynn showing the victim's parents where their daughter was killed? The viewer comes away with the thoughts of the lady never really understanding what she did that was so devastating to the victim and her parents. Putting her in cuffs and throwing the key away served well toward justice winning.
