This extremely silly slapstick of a comedy about a clumsy fellow named Seymour (Jonathan Haze) and his carnivorous plant named Audrey Jr. is the origin of the '86 version with Rick Moranis. The Rick Moranis Little Shop of Horrors is exponentially better even if it is a musical.
I'm not a slapstick kinda guy. Seeing inept klutzes fall all over themselves and make one boneheaded mistake after another is not my idea of comedy. Seymour was the Three Stooges all by himself without the silly noises. There were small breaks of joy such as seeing Jack Nicholson as Wilbur Force. His role would be replayed by Bill Murray in 1986 but I was just giddy to see a young black-and-white Nicholson before he was famous. Besides that little trinket and tiny pockets of humor the movie was largely nauseating.
