some comedy no horror
25 December 2018
It's the suburban town of Saturn, California in the 12 days before Christmas. It's a black comedy horror show. Many of the episodes end with new characters who lead into the next episode. Each episode takes a twist on a familiar aspect of Christmas. There are a few actual good episodes but the connective tissue is not great. This is Blumhouse trying to make a YouTube series.

The first episode is a dud take on A Christmas Carol. It's fully expected and nothing special. The second is a weak killer spirit horror. As a general rule in this series, it can't ever get scary but sometimes it's a fun dark satirical comedy. The third one is the first episode to have a bit of fun. The fourth has a silly fun surreal basic concept but the actors aren't able to carry it through. The fifth is the best with a hilarious concept. The sixth is nothing. The seventh is a silly office party killer spoof with good actors. The eighth is silly at first and gets even better. The ninth is fine with a better great elevator pitch than actual execution. The tenth has an annoying YouTube kid. YouTube kids are the worst. The Cratchit Brothers return for the last two to tie up the series together. They are not good leading actors and it costs the series. These two need to be solid actors to lead this show. Instead, they are bland nerds who are better as throwaway characters. There are a few good episodes but most are forgettable.
