Stash House (2012)
4/10
Home Alone for adults
28 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"Stash House" tells the story of a young couple that plan to move into a new house. On their first night, however, they discover a serious amount of drugs and soon find themselves imprisoned by their owners. Will they be able to fight their way out?

At a certain point this movie began to feel a lot like "Home Alone" in a grown up version for me. It is hard to believe that two average adults develop such creativity and fighting skills that they basically fight down several experienced gangsters and escape multiple life-threatening situations. Nonetheless, the movie is not a total flop, it's just rather cheap entertainment than a piece of art. It keeps you watching throughout the playtime, has some nice fast scenes and takes its own atmosphere serious. However that can't make up for a serious lack of realism that almost feels like satire from time to time.

All in all you can have a fun evening with this film but it won't stick to your mind very long and doesn't raise any questions or thoughts.
