bad bad movie
3 February 2019
Sonny Traficante (Frank D'Angelo) recounts the story of his life. He was raised by Sicilian mobsters right off the boat. He goes on a boys' trip with his mobster family where he's bitten by a vampire bat.

The names in this movie are amazing; James Caan, Daryl Hannah, Paul Sorvino, Robert Loggia, Armand Assante, Robert Davi, Michael Paré, Eric Roberts, and others. These are Hollywood legends from the 80's, 90's, and even today. Some have fallen away but all of them are recognizable names. What happened? This is a bad movie. The lead is the blandest of the lot. It doesn't surprise me that he's the director and writer. This is amateur hour with a guy over his head. He thinks he's a great filmmaker and star. In reality, the surrounding cast overshadows him in every scene. He's flailing away and everybody else has more charisma in their pinky finger than in his whole body. Even if one of the other actors take over the lead, D'Angelo is basically an amateur filmmaker with more gumption than skills. He has no vision, no story telling sense, nor any ear for dialogue. The big Hollywood names only remind the audience of this film's futility.
