One thing about the series-- focusing on a policewoman allows slightly offbeat stories not dwelling on masculine clichés like gunplay and fisticuffs. Here a pathetic Mary (Sherwood) thinks she's killed her alcoholic husband, and doesn't know what to do. She comes under influence of overbearing sister Katy (Kaye) who intimidates her into staying away from police and jail. Meanwhile, Mary's friend policewoman Casey searches for her knowing Mary's innocent. So which side will prevail, especially since Mary's growing more desperate, armed with the gun Katy's given her. Too bad Casey's also got a bad cold that doesn't help, (I wonder if it was real). Anyway, actresses Sherwood and Kaye deliver in spades that keeps the narrative moving along.
