I have seen a lot of romance movies, and I don't think this was one of them. I never found myself rooting for the couple. I was never against the couple, but it was never a draw for this film. The romance feels bland and forgettable. At its core, the film is not a romance because it is never about Eric and Stefania as a couple but rather a story about Eric finding his way.
The unique aspect of this story is the sport element, and I think the film would have been more interesting if it focused more on that. I could barely tell one player on the team from the other, but if there was a greater focus, the emotional stakes for the game would have had more impact.
