Champagne Safari is essentially an overblown home movie shot in 1951 of Rita
Hayworth and her then husband Aly Khan. Rita was off the screen for four
years while she was married to Aly and she would return within a year of this
film being shot.
She would also divorce Aly Khan in the interim so by the time Champagne Safari made it in its limited release to the screen it was all just a quaint piece of nostalgia. The film is narrated by Hollywood publicist Jackson Leightner and his wife Winnie.
