Yep better than I expected

Warning: Spoilers
"Alien: Containment" is an American English-language short film from 2019, so really new and fresh still as it has been approximately 2 weeks now since the release of this one. I read that there are several short films made this year to honor the 40th anniversary of the Alien franchise. Writer (not the only one) and director here is Chris Reading and this is by far not his rookie effort. He has been prolific in short films already and also worked on full feature movies as the man in charge, even if these did not receive the greatest reception. Anyway, back to this one here: taking into account that I have never been that huge on the Alien films, I was positively surprised how much I liked this one here, especially after the creature gets free and then it is a really tense and atmospheric movie. But also before that, it is a solid watch. The actors are all making a good job I felt, maybe even elevating the material and for me it was not a problem at all I have not come across any of them so far I think. The only thing I did not like that much is when the guy goes rogue in fear of containment that right this very moment the creature gets going inside of him and kills him. A bit too much of a coincidence perhaps. Other than that, all is good. I recommend seeing this film. If you like the genre and franchise even more than I do, then this deserves to be seen for sure, but even if you don't you can enjoy these under 10 minutes effortlessly. I ggive it a thumbs-up and I hope the other anniversary films will be as good.
