Adequate closure without being too original.

Once again, we see the effect of Moore's Law over the last decade. A beautiful looking film that is incredibly realistic in its scenery, but cartoonish enough to not fall into the uncanny valley.

Not many new characters in this fourth iteration of the Shrek franchise, which probably helped keep the plot from gaining too many sub-plots. And yet, with a classic "It's a Wonderful Life" storyline, it can glide into some adequate closure without having to be too terribly original.
