I can see why some people really hated it: but still recommending.

Warning: Spoilers
I suspect this production was made by people who are not from around here. Perhaps Australians or something. Because there is an oddness to the entire thing that sticks out for American audiencess. There are several scenes in the first three episodes that are downright disturbing and a few that you just think, no American would ever come up with this. So I can see how some viewers got turned off. That being said I am going to have to recommend it because, over all, it seems to be a very kind show.

The story starts with our heroine Amanda who thinks she has a good life. Her sister is grating and her mom is Leslie Ann Warren, nuff said, but today she is achieving her life goal... getting married in *just* the right ceremony in the countryside. As you do on lifetime, she finds out her finance is cheating on her. After a hiss fit of entitled millennial proportions she rides off on a bike in her wedding dress and comes upon a renaissance fair, which she mistakes for a theme wedding. After she correctly points out one of the quotes the actor uses is not from Richard the third, everyone takes note including the wildly kind and hot David Poland (Lucas Neff) and sweet (Delilah) Mary Hollis Inboden. After a day at the faire where everyone has been nicer to Amanda that anyone in her family or any of her friends, Amanda decides to stay and join the renaissance faire.

In the most positive way, so far, this is a very kind show. Amanda might sound like an entitled millennial but the character is kinder than that. As she goes along she learns a lot about her self that she needed to learn, such as she acts just like her mother trying to tear everyone down by pretending to be "helping" and truly seems to regret those actions. Delilah takes Amanda under her wing and when Amanda's mom is suggesting to her that she needs plastic surgery, Delilah comes up and says, I think you're beautiful... in such a genuinely nice way. Finally not sure if her and David will become a thing yet, I think he wisely realizes at the moment she is not for him, but I look forward to that playing out.
