Fargo-esque

Warning: Spoilers
There are reviews on here based on one episode. Shameful. This is based on 5 episodes...and I can't wait to see where this ends up. I was brought to the attention of the episode by a review and led to it because it had Jackie Weaver (who is always interesting), Terry O'Quinn (Lost) and Ben Kingsley. I devoured 4 episodes in one evening and just caught the 5th.

It's part Coen Brothers, a little Breaking Bad and very similar in pace to the recent brilliant Fargo series. To give any plot points that occur along the way would be too much of a spoiler, but there are great plot twists and big laughs.

The plot is simple...a guy persuades another guy he meets in a bar to help him swindle money from his church owning/swindling/etc. parents. This is the setup of the glacially-slow first episode but then it takes off and stuff goes wrong quickly. Too bad this is on Epix...it deserves a bigger chance at an audience and I wish all the episodes had dropped at once.
