Swingers is good, its funny and it is a timeless classic for males growing up. Unfortunately I think it portrays a depressing depiction of males. Favrea and Vaughn can be sad, depressing, inadequate and I do not feel it empowers males who watch it.
I feel the spiritual sequel - Made (2001) - with both Favreau and Vaughn portray males that are much stronger, successful and principled (e.g. by being a saviour at the end of the movie).
Not to mention Made is simply funnier if you're looking for classic Vince Vaughn one liners combined with an outstanding performance by Puff Daddy and Peter Falk. After you're done with Swingers, I highly recommend you watch Made (2001).
