This is a brilliant series. Do watch season 1 first, called Deutschland 83. South Africa, Cape Town and the ANC freedom fighters feature strongly in Deutschland 86.
I am not sure if the English subtitles I saw is the standard for all broadcasts (incl. the DStv version), but I really haven't seen anything like it before. The effort, dedication and pure joy that the subtitle writer(s) display show an art form onto itself. I trust it set a new standard for future subtitle writing. 10/10
