The Jim Henson Hour (1987–1992)

Warning: Spoilers
It's a shame this show was cancelled because there was a lot of creativity behind it. Much like the Muppet Show it focuses on Kermit trying to run a show while also dealing with his coworkers. From the eccentric Gonzo and Digit (Both performed by Dave Goelz) to the upbeat assistant Vicki (Fran Bill) who admires Kermit. He also has to deal with the guests who appear on the show as well. What makes this interesting is that Jim Henson himself host the show with the help of the Thought Lion from another Henson show called "The Storyteller" with John Hurt as the titular character.

The show was a sketch comedy that mainly parodied Cable t.v. and how phoned in most of the shows were. It may not've been as great as "The Muppets Show" or "Muppets Tonight" but it was still cool to watch. It's a shame NBC cancelled it early because there was a lot of potential. If they stuck with a regular schedule and Henson's original idea things would've probably been better. My favorite episode is "Secret of the Muppets" where Jim reveals how they make Muppets and how they work which causes Kermit and his friends to freak out upon hearing the news. If you like the Muppets you'll find something to like here. I'd say check it out on Youtube.
