One of the worst "Godzilla" movies...
2 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Well this 1973 addition to the "Godzilla" franchise is one of the worst movies in the entire franchise. Even the movies from the 1960s were better than this one in many, many ways.

Why?

Well, first of all, it was horribly lame that they reused footage from other Godzilla movies. That was just a lousy way to get around having to create combat scenes in the movie. It was abysmal to do so.

Secondly, there was a large robot or Megaman in the equation suddenly. Sure, I get that those robots are or were famous in Japan, but it didn't belong in a "Godzilla" movie in any form or manner. Sure, Gigan or Mecha Godzilla is in the franchise too, but a Megaman robot? Seriously... That was just a bit too far out there.

What worked for "Gojira tai Megaro" (aka "Godzilla vs Megalon") was the extensive fights between the kaijus, but it just wasn't enough to make me forget about the abysmal size-changing Megaman that teamed up with Godzilla and ended up shaking Godzilla's hand. Wait, what? Yeah, that happened as they won the fight against Gigan and Megalon.

The musical score for "Godzilla vs Megalon" was horrible. The music was so not fitting for a "Godzilla" movie, as it was some far out there spaced out hippie music.

My rating of "Godzilla vs Megalon" is a meager three out of ten stars. This was definitely not the brightest of moments in "Godzilla" history. And it is hardly a movie that I will be revisiting.
