A Miss Jones film in Name Olly
6 September 2019
This one finds a new director taking a crack at the series, and it doesn't really work. This one seems to want to follow Dark's, but it manages to be even more unrelated to the central concept than the 5th one. To the point where if you changed the character of Jones to any other name, it would not change the movie. And it's crazy since he wrote the classic Jones 3&4 with Dark! Two succubus escape from hell so Satan engages Justine Jones to help round them up. This plot is barely present though since gonzo was in full swing so the set-ups are about 2 minutes in front of sex scenes. The good is that the cast is great, packed with VCA contract gals from the era, and Passolini does a good job shooting everything, with a glossy fetish style. The problem though is that it narrative wise is forgettable, and everything about this reminds you of more established directors. So it looks like a Ninn film, but not as stylish, and plays like a Dark film, only not as clever/pervy. Most of Passolini's career seemed to me to be taking established, classic properties and making lesser versions of them. This one is the same.
