I almost shut it off at first, but then noted that it was an engaging plot - that these criminals would be pardoned if they saved the world. I found it easy to distinguish the various characters, and the pacing and suspense was perfect. It was so useful to have the evil guy's motivation spelled out clearly because of his family history. The only sad part was reading some of the negative reviews here - I wish that reviewers would understand that some movies have a limited budget yet do amazing things with it. The intent and simple message here was very beautiful and touching - and I didn't expect the very believable love story unfolding, and the logical tension between Jake and Vasquez.
