The over acting and cheesy dialog is par for the course. This series doesn't do the book justice. The book is very panoramic and rich in character development. What we get here really hard to watch from finish to end. Danny Aiello is really stiff and acting is tough to stomach.
This is like watching a high school play. All the acting and lines are delivered by mannequins and I cannot emphasize how bad the acting is. Darryl Hannah plays her character like a full on crackhead, instead of someone on the edge of hope and resigned to her fate.
Danny Aiello is the worse as the Don....UGH.
