The first Terminator is pretty damn solid. However, I will say that this is my favorite. I dont think this is the best action/Schwarzenegger/scifi film, I literally think it's the greatest film ever made. I cant think of a movie I enjoy more than this.
As a kid, I watched the film a few times daily, and it truly blew my mind. This movie is a thrill ride beginning to end. The chase scene in the beginning still gives me goosebumps. I've seen the movie probably 200+ times and I am always on the edge of my seat.
Robert Patrick is the best villain. They couldn't have cast a better villain. Even decades later with all of the sequels there is still no Terminator as menacing as the t1000. Everu time I get to the finale I always feel like they're going to fail but everything works out. This movie is a masterpiece. You could probably get away with watching this one first.
