Yes, there is a lot to take in with this show. The first episode tried to cram in way to much information. It was hard to process it all. However, week after week this show has gotten stronger and stronger. If you read the reviews of those who only watched one episode and believe them, they are right, but they really should've given it a 2nd chance!
