4/10
From a pounding in the ring to pounding the pavement.

Warning: Spoilers
A passable time filler that has a typically cliched plot for a poverty row crime drama, this hour long cheapie deals with rising prizefighter Ray Walker who decides to go against a mob boss's orders and doesn't throw a fight as ordered. His fighting career goes down the tubes and he ends up becoming a cop, simply going into law enforcement to get free training so he can return to the ring. It doesn't hurt him that he falls for a pretty nurse Geneva Mitchell who is intent on keeping him in line, and in typical movie hero fashion, he turns his life around and learns the struggles of being a good police officer and making criminals pay.

The hijacking of a warehouse truck in the last reel leads to a chase sequence through your average city streets and a show-down with his old gang in the conclusion. Not much to say about the acting here other than it is serviceable yet not something to remember past the end of the picture. What I will remember about it is the location footage that looks like it could be any medium sized city on any state map. I had more fun looking at the detail of this location footage than really pay much attention to the plot. The film's first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes are actually pretty good, but that leaves a 40 minute gap where nothing really exciting or new happens outside a few bits of spicy dialog.
