Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Senate Spy (2009)
Season 2, Episode 4
8/10
The Spy Who Loved Me
9 July 2020
This episode is a solid and enjoyable spy story as Padme gets asked to spy on her former lover who is spying on the senate for the separatists. It is a game of spy and counter spy with a bit of romance and jealousy from Anakin.

Interestingly this is not so much a James Bond homage and more probably a homage to 1940s spy movie classic Notorious by the genius director Alfred Hitchcock.

Overall the episode is not up to Hitchcock's classic standard and not all that exceptional compared to the best Clone Wars episodes but the ingredients of Notorious - romance, jealousy, intrigue, mind games and suspense are there enough to make this very decent in terms of interest and quality.

My rating: 8/10.
