I'll preface this, I like this show as background entertainment, Barney is fantastic, lily and Marshall are great, robin is average and ted well he's the worst main character ever. We run a you tube channel and we all agreed this is the worst episode of a popular sitcom in the last 25 years.
Himym is awfully written, each series finale is pathetic and forced just for a cliffhanger. It's never written well and this is the third bad one in a row.
Firstly josh Radnor is awful, he can't act, can't portray emotion, is monotonous, isn't hot or even above average looking yet they keep forcing that narrative, has ok basic hair yet it's hyped up and it isn't special, has literally so little chemistry with anyone, he should've been killed off and replaced at this point, used the accident and don't plastic surgery for a half decent actor.
Secondly he is beyond horrible, from the birthday break up to using friends, to being condescending selfish and an all round jerk, this guy is so emotionally stunted the fact people watched this show as anything but boredom filler is beyond me, the romantic in me hates this show with an absolute passion, portrays women as desperate and stupid people. It's idiotic.
So another example of awful writing, in 23 minutes he dumps a girl for a pathetic reason even though he had months to see where it went, another girl he said he loved yet barely knew her, proven in season 4, has a "near death accident" but is completely fine and cognitive and think that means he can use it as an excuse to reevaluate a decision and not onl6 want her back but actually propose, yet again the smart professional mother so desperate for a childish guy she even accepted. How can you make me hate Sarah Chalke.. that's how bad this is.
Exactly the same plot with Barney, they try the love brother at the end but it's just more emotionally stunted behaviour by a disturbed psychopathic sycophant. Then force the Barney loves robin thing for a double stupid cliffhanger.
If anyone over 16 thinks this show is well written it's scary, ted is an awful human being, so many instances of his behaviour yet he even says in this episode he's the good guy. He's a psychologist wet dream he's that delusional to the point of disrespect and forceful behaviour like anyone can have a different opinion in ted world.
