THE MOLLY MAGUIRES isn't a bad film, but I was expecting a little more given teh subject matter. In the end this turns out to be a little talky and a little long-winded, with a somewhat obvious plot that feels padded out to a two hour running time, which means a lot of standing around and more than a few moments that feel repetitive. It's a shame, because the subject matter and setting are wonderful, but I was hoping for something with the power of Zola's stunning GERMINAL.
