"Will you give me the transfusion?"

Warning: Spoilers
Paul Johnson has spooky eyes which he hides behind thick dark glasses and kills people to obtain their blood. He turns out to be from Davana and his activities are pertinent to the preservation of his planet's population. He also has hypnotised a local doctor to give himself daily blood transfusions, administered by a nurse Nadine Storey who takes up residence in his home.

Directed by Roger Corman this is quite an engaging B-movie, partly to do with the acting. Paul Birch as Mr. Johnson is just right, creepy and commanding but also melancholic and he has a marvellous deep voice. In support as the lively nurse is the talented Beverly Garland, always a treat to see. Jonathan Haze and Dick Miller add their particular charm to the film.

The script by Charles B. Griffith and Mark Hanna is nothing special but goes along nicely with no lapses of sense and even though Mr. Johnson kills people, drains their blood and incinerates them you can't help feeling sorry for him as he is doing what he does for a higher cause than his own needs. His role is well written.

Only 67 minutes long but I enjoyed it.
