Review of Hurley

Hurley (2019)

WOW, me first
13 August 2020
I cannot believe this documentary has not been reviewed, even by a family member, or a friend? I am honoured to be the first.

I'm an Irishman, living in Ireland. I'm White, Straight, and obviously Male. I don't have to look over my shoulder at anytime, day or night.

I never heard of Hurley Haywood naturally because, we don't get too much American motor racing in Ireland. I'm one of the few that knows a bit but, that's neither here nor there.

What drew me to this documentary was, motor racing, and love. I love motor racing. F1, Formula E, DTM, NASCAR, IMSA, Euroformula, MotoGP, the list goes on. As to Love, who has the right to decide, who can love whom they love?

I'm lucky to live in a country, that kicked the World in it's collective ass, and told it in no uncertain terms, love is love. We also have Rosemary Smith, one of the first Female International Racing Drivers, of any type.

It wa a joy to watch, it was painful at times, because of love being denied or hidden but, I have a feeling, that was the point. I got it in a heartbeat, hopefully someday, the rest of the world will catch up.
