Coco Chanel (2008 TV Movie)

FALSIFYING HISTORY
4 October 2020
It really takes a lot of nerve to try and sell such a huge lie, as the one sold by this movie, which claims to be Coco Chanel's life story. If one wants to find out what Coco Chanel really was, I would advise them to look her up in Wikipedia, for example.

So, you can watch it as a nice fiction film, about the life of some fictional diva of haute coiffure, but that's it. And as such, it is quite nice. Nothing noteworthy, but nice. However, if you are aware of the true nature of Chanel, you will probably get furious with this sanctification of a ruthless woman, a Nazi collaborator, a woman who may have had the greatest taste in clothing, but was probably one of the most wretched persons ever to have lived.

So, what next from the makers of this movie? A biography of Hitler, as a sensitive, vegan, animal loving boy, who managed to give his compatriots back the hope they had lost?
