Anyone watching this comes away with the impression (and rightly so) that the Swedes are the most naive and idiotic people and perhaps it may be true. They have lived (as things have now changed with the addition of immigrants) in a rather childish world for some time and it shows. Their police are infants and brutish high school bullies (Hey, not unlike America!). They continuously ruin crime scenes, cover for mistakes, take bribes, lose track of clues, don't follow up leads and generally let their personal lives take priority at all times over crime solving. The French aren't much better in that they are more worldly but into bribery and subterfuge.
The actors are all fine, able beings who deliver. Unfortunately the characters they are portraying are so flawed they are impossible to empathize with unless you are under 30 in which case you have no morals or ethics anyway.
Sad as it could have been so much better.
