Some tourists find a deserted island with a spooky mansion and they decide to go snooping around after seeing that this island is mysteriously empty. Little do they know there's a hungry cannibal killer lurking around who wants them for lunch.
The effects are great in Anthropophagus and the lead villain is truly scary and intimidating, but there's not a lot of story or interesting characters here, so anytime the film slows down to spend time with them or follow them as they explore darkened basements and attics, it's easy to check out and get bored before being jolted back to life by witnessing a baby fetus being ripped from its mother's womb and eaten alive.
