Red Dwarf: Queeg (1988)
Season 2, Episode 5
8/10
Strong episode with some great classic movie tributes

After a series of incidents the crew start to get impatient with Holly.

This is a memorable episode with a strong character focus and some very funny moments.

Rob Naylor and Doug Grant are massive cinema buffs and it comes through in so much of their writing. I love the Caine Mutiny and High Noon references used to great comic effect in this episode.

It is unique in that Holly gets to be the star of the show with much more involvement and story focus. Some of his lines are epically delivered in his deadpan style with wonderful timing.

Lister, Rimmer and the Cat are really made to suffer in this episode and it's all done in great humour. For once it's nice to see them all on the receiving end of the abuse rather than it just being Rimmer.

All performances are great with Norman Lovett standing out playing a great character not only taken for granted by the crew but probably by the Red Dwarf audience as well. I did miss him when he left the show.
