Kinski is attractive as as an innocent farm girl seducted by a selfish aristocrat she works for, she is well accompanied by a good support cast giving fine interpretations .As Leigh Lawson as the aristocrat who desires and takes advantage of her . And Peter Firth as the good-tempered young farmer who falls deeply for her . There is another inferior rendition based on the vintage novel shot in 1998 by Ian Sharp with Justine Waddell, Jason Fleming , Oliver Milburn, John McEnery.
