In the words of one of Warner Brothers stars from an earlier era, "the strong take it from the weak and the smart take it from the strong".

James Cagney's philosophy from The Oklahoma Kid was the mantra of the two leads from The Alaskans, Roger Moore and Jeff York. These two arrive in Alaska midst the Gold Rush of the 1890s. But these two guys thought themselves the smartest around and sought to take it from those who dug for it.

Serving as a kind of conscience at times was Dorothy Provine who with her songs was the best part of the show.

Some color and location cinematography might have helped. The Alaskans ran onlu one season and Provine went right into another Warner Brothers series The Roaring 20s singing their period msuic.

Wonder what became of Roger Moore?
