Had this series been done in the 1950s or early 60s by Disney, it might have been halfway good. But there's a cheapness to the whole production, from the often awful CGI effects to the soap-opera quality acting. Some ideas are good, as the show mixes espionage and science fiction, but most of the time, it just lurches along on plot machination, much like contemporary awful series along the lines of Xena: Warrior Princess. If you wnat better steampunk, watch the old The Wild Wild West Series (and not the terrible movie). It's amazing so many people talk about how great special effects are today, yet shows like these don't demonstrate it, along with quality writing.
