Rising Malevolence
27 January 2021
Though I do like my "stranded-in-space" storylines, and love my Plo Koon, this was not the episode that I had hoped to see. As a part of a larger story arc, it might give a little breathing room before the big fights to come, but as a single episode, it lacks intrigue. It has minimal action, but it does not manage to find another way to hook the audience. Had the character in peril been a more popular one than Plo Koon, I think there could have been an argument to be made. I do like that the show puts a lot of focus on the clones and makes them real characters, instead of just expendable soldiers. Knowing what comes next, I think I am being kinder on this episode than I should be, but as part of a bigger arc, the episode has more profound impact. Still, not one of the best the show has to offer.
