Councilman Russel Savage (Kamal Angelo Bolden) and councilman August King (Isaiah Washington) are both running for mayor of Atlanta. Russel is August's son. The mud slinging is minimal. The film concentrates on Russel's attraction to Avery (Felisha Cooper) a staffer and their love affair. Five minutes from the end there is a twist that didn't do anything for the slow moving film other than make it odd.
