13 April 2021
A corpse is found into a car trunk that belongs to the Swiss Ambassador : Anton Driffing in Ireland . A retired detective : Luigi Pistilli is hired by a Police Inspector : Arthur O'Sullivan to investigate undercover the ominous crime . The prime suspect , the Ambassador , refuses to cooperate , that's why he has diplomatic immunity . Along the way , a string of killings take place in Ireland and to get tracks , the detective has an affaire with the Ambassador's daughter : Dagmar Lassander.

Typcal and ordinary Giallo with usual ingredients such as thrills , chills , red herrings , plot twists , nudism and grisly killings committed by regular gloved murderer . As usual, there are several suspicious people , the ruthless Ambassador Anton Driffing , the mistreated wife Valentina Cortese , their beautiful daughter Dagmar Lassander , the chauffer ... who is the killer ?. The films benefits itself of being shot in Ireland , including atrractive vistas city of Dublin and the wonderful cliffs of Moher . Stars Luigi Pistilli, an usual secondary actor who here is main star , giving so-so acting , he had a tarnished career that finished as he commited suicide by hanging . Co-stars the gorgeous Dagmar Lassander who also performed the known Gialli : "A hatchet for honeymoon" by Mario Bava . And other notorious secondaries and familiar faces , such as : Anton Driffing who played a large number of nasty and Nazi roles , the prestigious Italian actress Valentina Cortese , Werner Pochath, Sergio Doria , Dominique Boschero and Renato Romano.

It displays an atmospheric musical score in the 70s style by Stelvio Cipiriani. As well as evocative cinematography by cameraman Silvano Ippoliti , but an alright remastering being really necesary . The motion picture was regularly written and directed by Riccardo Freda , packing several shortcomings , flaws and failures . Freda was a prolific artisan who made a lot of films developing a considerable skillness and mastery . From the mid-50, Freda's liking make for colorful and atmospheric flicks , especially Peplums or Sword and Sandals movies as "Teodora" , "Spartacus" , "Giants of Thessaly" , "The Seventh Sword" , "Samson of the Seven miracles in the world" , "Maciste in the Court of the Great Khan" . In the Sixties , he was pioneer in Italy of Horror-Fantasy , frightening spectators all around the world, particularly "I Vampiri" , and "Horrible secret of Dr Hitchkock" . He also made adventures as "Black Eagle", "The son of Black Eagle" , "Son of D'Artagnan" , "The Mongols" and uncredited "Daughter of D'Artagnan". Furthermore , other genres as Eurospy : "Coplan FX18" , "Mexican Slayride", Spaghetti Western : "No Killing without Dollars" and Giallo : "The Iguana with the tongue of fire" . Rating : 4.5/ 10 . Average thriller , only for hardcore Gialli fans and Riccardo Freda's career folllowers .
