Review of Kill Cruise

Kill Cruise (1990)
6/10
Sailing in the Atlantic with a Psychopath
19 April 2021
This film begins with a boat owner known simply as "The Skipper" (Jurgen Prochnow) taking a friend out on a fishing trip only to watch in horror as he is swept overboard and drowns. Upon returning to his small coastal village in Gibraltar he is questioned by the local authorities and subsequently dismissed even though they suspect foul play due in part to the fact that he was having an affair with his friend's wife. Not long after that two local prostitutes by the name of "Su" (Patsy Kensit) and "Lou" (Elizabeth Hurley) seduce him and after a wild night obtain a promise by him to sail them from Gibraltar to Barbados. Although he doesn't initially remember making the promise he eventually relents and the three of them board his boat and set sail. The problem, however, is that it soon becomes painfully obvious that one of them has some serious emotional issues which makes this difficult journey even more hazardous. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was an interesting film which benefited from good performances by everyone involved and some good twists at the very end. Likewise, having two beautiful actresses like Patsy Kensit and Elizabeth Hurley certainly didn't hurt in any way either. Having said that, however, I must admit that there were some dull scenes here and there but even so I enjoyed this film for the most part and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.
