Nat Parker is released after four years in prison for bank robbery. He is on his way to ghost town Desert City to get the $75,000 he had hidden there. His former partners in crime, Crowley and Tanner, are waiting for him. They want that cash for themselves. Nat's gypsy girlfriend Beata is waiting for him also. She wants Nat to return the money so that they can get married and make a fresh start. The padre asks the Ranger and Tonto to make sure that Nat does the right thing. It won't be easy because Nat sure figures he earned that money for spending four years in prison and not ratting out his partners. This is a very good episode filled with slam band action. Watch for the skillful mount done by Clayton Moore at the end of the episode. North Dakota born Carol Thurston plays Beata. She appeared in many ethnic roles, despite being of Irish descent. Her first ever role was as Javanese girl "Tremartini" in the 1944 Gary Cooper movie, "The Story of Dr. Wassell." Carol Thurston was a skillful actress with a lot of range, as can be seen by her performance in this LR episode. It's worth watching.
