Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker (1991) is another holiday film I recently watched for free off Tubi. The storyline focuses on an old Toy maker and his son who create toys and give them to families to take home that will kill them. This movie is directed by Martin Kitrosser (Daddy's Girl and Living in Fear) in his directorial debut. This picture stars Jane Higginson (General Hospital), Van Quattro (Fight Club), William Thorne (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) and Tracy Fraim (Fear). This is the final non-fan made movie in the series and is better than 3 & 4 but far from the quality of the first 2 Silent Night, Deadly Night movies. The toys and kill scenes are okay, but this is far from memorable or worth watching. This was definitely a good place to end the series (and hope someone can come along for a worthwhile relaunch). Silent Night, Deadly Night is nowhere near the quality of the Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street series, but the first two are still fun. Overall this movie is a below average addition to the horror genre that I'd score a 4/10.
