Was a cliche storyline even for Hallmark. It has been done over and over. The fact that Alecia Witt wrote this, is pretty sad. All she did was re-write something that had already been written. And while there was no "conflict", she wrote - and played - a very shallow and selfish female lead, Meg. Meg meets the male lead, Nate, and as soon as he finds out and tells her his company is involved in the planned demolition of her beloved street, she instantly gets mad at him and "needs to be alone" to "figure out what she wants". He told her as soon as he knew. Still not soon enough for her. And she immediately blames him. So tired of these male leads having to beg female leads for forgiveness for something that is clearly out their control. She only cares about her own problems. Gives no thought to the trouble Nate goes through to help save the stores and the fact it could destroy his relationship with his father. She also sees him have one conversation with an ex and immediately assumes he's dating her again. Pathetic. I would like to have seen a female lead that is not so self-centered and insecure. Very adolescent script for someone who is such a seasoned actress.

And enough with the self-indulgent singing. The movie would have been fine and a lot less annoying if we didn't have to suffer through more of her auto-tuned singing. (Which, of course, she wrote into the script so she can perform) It was not necessary, and so over auto-tuned that it was barely recognizable as her voice.
