This highly formulaic film with massive doses of cliches would not normally receive this rating from me. But since I pride myself on being able to figure out these formulas rather easily, well over 90% of the time, I usually give them a 3 or a 4. I was wrong about this one, and most likely, you will be wrong as well. That is why it is rated a 6. Lon Chaney as a lawyer is a bit humorous, but he pulls it off,, and the rest of the cast goes through their murder in a dark mansion at night routine without missteps. Worth viewing for the unpredictable ending.
