Starsky, Hutch, Dobey and Huggy were the only reason to watch this show that borrowed from The Super Cops, Freebie and The Bean and Busting with some I Spy Culp and Cosby added. Soul and Glaser had terrific chemistry but the scripts from the Spelling assembly line meat grinder were often derivative, recycled and awful, like they were for Vegas, Charlie's Angels and Matt Houston. Short on ideas, some of the scripts delved into "supernatural" situations: The Vampire, zombies and voodoo, a bunch of Ripper stories and cultists. Someone must have caught Satan's Cheerleaders at the drive-in. A year later the Spelling writers cooked up Satan's Witches, robed creeps who kidnapped a sixteen year old girl.
