A quality gothic horror
22 October 2021
This loose adaption of the Edgar Allen Poe story is actually a surprisingly good effort. It has shades of Phantom of the Opera combined into the mix, with Herbert Lom playing a masked madman going around murdering various members of the cast. There are some effective creepy dream sequences, a sinister dwarf and a Grand Guignol theatre setting. A quality gothic horror.
