This could have been one of the better Italian rom-coms, because the story holds up. The motivations are there, so are the tricks, leeways, excuses, confusions.
The only problem is, when you cast a very sexy woman like Antonia Liskova in the role of a chef that will pass as a male thanks mostly to fake moustache... Well... What you convey on the screen fails to pair with the level of credibility in the script.
I saw this almost a year ago on RAI and it did not fail as light entertainment. But if you are looking to really suspend your disbelief, the visual aspect will fall short of Tootsie, Ms. Doubtfire, Trans America etc.
As for not being PC - I am all for "not being PC", but there really is not much in this one to say it is or not.
