Is it "Slightly Dangerous" to Admit the Film is Fun?
31 December 2021
I read some of the many reviews here of "Slightly Dangerous," and the negative ones started to diminish my having actually enjoyed watching this film. But then I thought some more about this and decided to discount those negative commentaries and how they had begun to make me doubt my favorable reaction.

The plain fact is, I enjoyed the film quite nicely, thank you. I thought it was bright, generally cheerful, well-appointed, and I enjoyed seeing a light and fairly happy early Lana Turner and Robert Young doing some physical and facial-expression comedy. I enjoyed the diverse group of name players, including the ever-enjoyed Eugene Pallette. Walter Brennan playing a quite normal-appearing individual was a treat, too.

Yes, the story can be picked apart, as most can if one really wants to, but why not just go along for a nice little ride in the country with some venerable players who obviously enjoyed their outing in the sunshine. I liked the film well and am proud to say it!
