"After enough attempts to fish and spend the PENNY . . . "

Warning: Spoilers
" . . . Pluto has a newspaper to carry the same way," says the "Storyline" for A GENTLEMAN'S GENTLEMAN, referencing what happens after Mickey Mouse orders his canine cohort "Run to the corner and fetch me the Sunday paper--here's a DIME, now don't lose it." However, the animators clearly draw Pluto struggling to retain a silver-colored ten-cent piece--NOT a copper-colored penny! U. S. Cents are about 37% larger than dimes, as well as being 81% thicker. These differences are crucial to the plot of this cartoon. More importantly, the inaccurate summary destroys the verisimilitude of the animated short, because American Sunday papers with full-color comics--as pictured here--were NEVER priced at just one penny!!
